Euro Tour (Part One)

On Sunday, I got home from a nineteen day trip around Europe with sixty-six other exchange students. It was truly unbelievable.

The journey started on June 25th, I took a train down south with all the Stockholm exchange students to stay at a hotel the night before our tour began. As we traveled, more exchange students from other parts of Sweden hoped on to join us.

Most of the exchange students (meeting for the first time) in the train station.

We checked into the hotel and then a small group of us got on another train to head to Denmark.

Gimme pizza, P-I-Z-Z-A.

The next morning, we ate breakfast, met our chaperones and tour guide, loaded the bus, and set off on our adventure.

Goodbye Sweden!

Crossing the bridge from Sweden to Denmark.

We took a ferry from Denmark to Germany. On the ferry we ate lunch and chilled on the deck.

We safely made it to Berlin, Germany!

For dinner, we ate Italian food?!? That night, Germany beat the USA in the World Cup games. The streets were filled with people celebrating and with Pablo screaming "USA! USA!"; it was a little scary.

The following morning, we went to the museum of the secret police.

The most interesting part of the day was getting to see the Berlin Wall.

After the Berlin Wall, we had a tour around the city.

Then we had free time to get lunch and see more of the city on our own until dinner.

We stumbled upon buddy bears designed to represent every country competing in the World Cup.

USA

South Korea

Australia

We all met up for dinner. It was extra special because it was Georgina's birthday!

Happy Birthday Georgina!

That night in our hotel room, Georgina said, "We should close the blinds so the sun will not shine though at two in the morning." It was two in the morning already, chica, we are not in Sweden anymore.

The next day we traveled to Cracow, Poland and ate a Jewish meal.

Look how awesome  the placemat was.

Koh

We explored the city after we ate dinner.

Emmy!

The next day we woke up for a city tour.

The Jewish Ghettos.

Hannah

Aussies!

USA!

Sabrina!

Hispanics!

Milli and the Pope.

For lunch a group of us got potato pancakes!

Hamish and Paddy getting energy from the Wawel Chakra, which is believed to be the one of the world's main center of spiritual energy.

Paddy and I shared some yummy (very cheap) ice-cream.

To make sure everyone was there, we walked though a tunnel so Steve and Lars could count us.

Our next stop was an emotional one; however, one place I was very interested in seeing. We went to Auschwitz. As you can imagine, sixty-seven exchange students can be crazy, loud, and out of control. That was not the story as we walked where over one million and a half innocent humans were murdered. We were silent, processing everything. I opted out of taking photos during the tour because I wanted to give my full attention.

As we finished the tour, it started pouring so we had race to the bus.

For dinner, we ate at our hotel. It was one of the most funny meals I have every had. I sat with Ly, Maj, Fernando, and Pablo and all we did was laugh about every little thing.

Fernando spilled pepper all over his plate!
We died laughing.

Oh, Aussies!

Yet again, it was time to pack up and get on the bus. We stopped in Slovakia for lunch and then made it Budapest, Hungary.

Drying our clothes and shoes after running in the rain in Poland.

Grace is the most attractive person I have ever met.

The awful soda Marco told us we should try; look at Abi's reaction.

Kate found her twin.

MARCO

Bronte decided to mess with Lars. It was pretty funny. She sat down next to him and then when he was talking to someone else, she crawled under the seats. He was so confused.

"I forgot the name of the crazy girl?!?" -Lars asking about Bronte

This happens often.

Hamish may or may not have his nails painted.

The next day we took a tour around the city, then had free time were we had lunch and roamed around more before dinner.

Andrew kills me.

Canada Day!

I actually got in the video with the Canadians, no one noticed!

A bunch of exchange students decided to climb on the statues for photos; however, they were stopped by the police.

Just chilling on the way back to the hotel with only a few others plus Marco who let us take over the microphone and give our own tours.

Getting on the subway to make our way to the city center.

"It is so strange to think that a couple of days ago we were all mostly strangers and now we are eating lunch together in Budapest." -Bronte

Go Argentina!

Back at the hotel, we all got fancy for dinner and for a boat ride.

Fernando thinking about life.

We checked out of our hotel and made our way to Austria. First, we went back to Slovakia to see the capital city, Bratislava. We had time to stroll though the city and eat lunch before getting back on the bus to head towards Zell am See, Austria.

World meet Sassy. Sassy meet world.
Gabbe takes Sassy everywhere and has him in all his photos.
Sassy is our mascot.

Sushi time.

I asked Koh, a girl from Japan, to order for me because I wanted to get what Japanese people get and it was amazing.

Back on the road and sleepy.

Georgina's selfie with sleepy Kenz.

The  'stop bothering me blanket'.

Hiking in Zell am See was my favorite experience from the whole trip. I loved how we were not in a busy city but on our own in the Austrian Alps.

Jesus

Hiked with this amazing group.

We had the choice to walk through the gorge and I decided to go.

Back at the hotel, after a whole day of hiking we all were super tired but it was so worth it.

I am so sorry Natalie, hahaha.

That night, the Americans had a very secret meeting because the next day was the FOURTH OF JULY!
